WHAT´S NEW? WHAT CAN WE DO SO LATER WE CAN GIVE THANKS FOR THE CHANGE?

Some weeks ago, while sharing comments about the present international political conflicts, and maneuvering, specially related to the Central American country of Honduras, I made some questions about what the responses would be if that country were, as wealthy and powerful, as some of its detractors are.

I made them because I believe that the main concern is not democracy, but the precedent established, when constitutional powers, such as the local judiciary, the legislative and the electoral institutions, as well as the political party of the deposed government official, are and act against him, because of grave breaches of the constitutional restrictions.

Because manipulations of the constitutions are becoming the rule of the game of every one of these protesting government officials, who pompously rip their vests, and claim the most absolute outrage, because, as they cynically state, of the fear of proliferating political removals that could affect them.

And one of the responses was: What's new?

Let’s look at 2 Tim. 3 "There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power".

Tell me which of the protagonists in these political crises does not fit in that picture.

1. The U.S. for many years has taken Latin America for granted. Now is kind of "too late" to mend things.

2. The Latin American countries are misunderstanding the meaning of democracy. We can attest to the fact that it is not enough to be elected. Democracy goes beyond elections. It is a lifestyle with true meaningful values.

3. Whether we like it or not: Things will not get better, they will get worse.

4. The final solution is the millennial kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. My final vote is for the Kingdom of God.

In reference to the comments I would like to add, that we must give to our children the opportunity, to determine ways to understand, what could and should be done to do our part in the miracles of God, derived from His undying love for every one of His creatures.

We must show them how, and lead them, if we can, wherever we could be, however we could feel, whenever we could have the opportunity to do so, despite age, feelings, circumstances, rejection, isolation, dismissal or social discomfort.

Only by doing so we will be able, later on, to tell and proclaim at the top of the mountains of life, experience and learnt wisdom: I give you thanks, Lord.
